Summary/Abstract: This study emphasizes that the economic regulations are not effective and the rules introduced to regulate economic life frequently produce results contrary to expectations, with reference to the results of the deregulation process of the airline industry in the United States and Turkey. In the study, it has shown that consumers, employees and the industry in general has achieved significant benefits thanks to airline deregulation in the US and Turkey. It has been seen that the sector grew, ticket prices fell, passenger capacity increased, and flight cancellations and waiting times decreased after the liberalization of air transport in both countries.
