Development of new media technology

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author has presented the course of development of new media, their application and the impact on the society and the individual. The principles on which new media are based upon and the particularities that distinguish them from traditional media are elaborated. Particular attention has been directed to the man – computer interface, which enabled the emergence of virtual reality. Modularity as an important principle of new media has been described through the practical application of digital composing. The essential elements of 3D reality, especially polygonal modelling are presented. The author has devoted the needed attention to the methods of making different types of simulation and additionally has shed light on new media technology with a description of its influence on the users.
