Summary/Abstract: A great connoisseur of the Serbian medieval literature, culture and art, Milan Kašanin is the author of a comprehensive introductory study dedicated to the Studenica monastery. Acknowledging all aspects of this medieval monument, M.Kašanin pointed out the importance this monastery had for the Serbian history,architecture, painting, sculpture, applied arts, religion and culture in general for centuries. He particularly emphasized the impact of this endowment of the Serbian dynasty’s founder on the later Serbian history and artistic creative endeavors.
