On the Issues of Onomastic Grammar and the Culture of Language - Łunia Street

Summary/Abstract: This paper seeks to analyse the street uunia from the historical and linguistic point of view. The author came up with several general conclusions: 1. The contemporary name of the street is derived from the personal name Luń. 2. The patron of the lubycka street is Andrij uuniw (Andrzej Łuniów). 3. The second component of the personal Ukrainian was inadequately transposed onto the Polish language. The proper name of the street’s name in accord with the Polish language norm should read Łuniowa or else Łuniwa.
