Summary/Abstract: Present study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of Oral Reading Skill and Reading Comprehension Test (ORCT). This measurement tool aimed to evaluate reading speed, reading fluency, reading accuracy skills and reading comprehension skills. The sample size of this study includes 737 children (354 males and 383 females) that aged between 7 and 11 years. These children were tested with various tests, including ORCT, Bender Gestalt Visual Motor Gestalt Test, Gesell Developmental Test and Vocabulary Assessment Scale (VAS). The results exibit high Cronbach’s alphas, together with high test-retest and split-half reliabilities for fluent reading, reading speed, reading accuracy and reading comprehension subtests of ORCT. In addition, there were significant correlations between reading skills and visual perception and vocabulary skills. Overall, our results suggest that ORCT could be effectively used to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the reading skills.
