It is shown that his influence had a dual character: organizational (work in the structures of the Polish Ethnological Society; creation of the Slavic Institute at the Jagiellonian University, which housed the Chair of Slavic Ethnography; foundation of the Lud Słowiański journal (‘The Slavic Folk’); support for ethnologist, e.g. Kazimierz Moszyński and Bronisław Piłsudski), as well as scientific (stimulation of ethnogeography; providing data for ethnologists in linguistic works).
