Summary/Abstract: On the basis of a thorough analysis of newspapers and archive records the author describes the hostile attitudes between Marxists of diverse political orientations (communists, socialists) and Dr. Korošec in the 1918-40 period that originated from their exclusive conceptions of the world. The author analyzes changes in Korošec's attitudes towards Marxism (communism) as well as his political position within state authorities, and the role of Dr. Korošec in attempts made by Yugoslavia to come closer to the Axis in 1940, as well as communists' views about them.
