Summary/Abstract: Mevlid which is one of the kinds of Islamic Turkish literature are works praising the various phases of life of Hz. Muhammed, especially to birth of him. With the effect of Vesîletü’n-necât that is written by Suleyman Çelebi, our poets wrote the works of this kind to express as well as some of the religious sensitivities and their respect, fondness and commitment for Hz. Muhammed. The many mevlids have been written from XV. century until now. One of these mevlids is Mevlid-i Şerîf of Osman Sirâceddin, who lived in XIX. century, from Erzurum. In this paper, we give life and works of mentioned poet, and transcriptional text at the same time.
