Summary/Abstract: Game played by children is not the activity confined to only home and playground. Games with pedagogical content should be used oftenly by the first stage primary education teachers. Because the lesson enriched by game activities becomes enjoyable and easily learned and remembered. The objective of this study was to determine the scope of use of educational game technique and its frequency in teaching of Turkish. Firstly the concept of “game” and the properties of educational game technique were defined. Thereafter its effects on the child development were explained. Secondly, the activities of educational game in the guidebooks to first, second and third class of first stage primary education for Turkish Teachers were determined and classifed in order to make a bibliography about the use of educational game techniques in the teaching of Turkish. This study is a kind of qualitative research in the scanning model since all data were collected by literature scanning and reviewing documents. The findings of this study conclude that educational game technique was not used sufficiently in the guidebooks to first, second and third class of first stage primary education for Turkish Teachers.
