Summary/Abstract: Aim: The purpose of this article is to present an outline of effortsmade by father Wacław Bliziński, a parson in the Lisków parish, to help families in the first half of the20th century. Methods: The article was written based on documental analysis and interviews. The outline describes actions, and their effects, undertaken by father Bliziński, a priest who established an exemplary model of an early 20th century Polish village, turning Lisków into a symbol of progress. Results: This article presents examples of the initiatives of father Wacław Bliziński: stages of establishing ties with his parishioners’ families, educational activity on behalf of developing rural families, increasing the social commitment of families andwomen, and political activity. Conclusions: As a priest, social activist, minister and senator, father Wacław Bliziński acted to raise the level of education, culture, cooperation, social organisations and health.
