Summary/Abstract: Classroom management and the dealing with discipline and misbehaviour are important teacher's skills. On the other hand, challenging situations in the classroom are frequent source of teachers' stress and professional dissatisfaction, especially at the transition into practice and during the first years of teaching. The aim of this study is a) to analyse student teachers' and teachers' (N = 629) perceptions of 46 types of classroom behaviour as a source of teacher's stress, and b) to analyse video records of lessons from common elementary schools in Slovakia (9 lessons recorded in 2 schools) to identify the occurrence of misbehaviour. The analyses revealed that there are significant differences in the perception of misbehaviour across career cycle and that about 33% of the types of misbehaviour (15 types out of 46) can be identified within the recorded lessons. Based on the results, further research objectives and the suggestions for teacher training are discussed.
