Summary/Abstract: The theoretical study deals with the life and work of Augustin Bartoš, an important representative of pedagogy for people with physical impairments, who worked in the first half of the 20th century actively and whose reference to this field is very valuable, acknowledged and even today. The name of Augustin Bartoš is closely linked with Jedlička‘s Institute in Prague, headed for decades. During this work he cooperated with a number of important personalities, especially with prof. Rudolf Jedlička, M.D., whose common goal was development of care for children with physical impairments, which at that time was totally inadequate. Augustin Bartoš’s main activity was to educate children with disabilities. However, his publishing and pioneering work cannot be overlooked either. The aim of this study is to summarize the most important pedagogical works by Augustin Bartoš and to analyze his pedagogical link.
