Summary/Abstract: As a full member of the European Union, Bulgaria has largely aligned its legislation with European law. However, there are a number of challenges to our country that arise from my membership. Bulgaria has yet to meet the EU's standards and requirements. One of the goals of the Bulgarian Government at present is the admission of our country to the Schengen area in 2011.
