Judicial Decisions of the Supreme Court

Summary/Abstract: The Supreme Court’s latest decisions, which are reminders of the correct understanding of the protection of the acquired rights principle in relation to pension privileges of the uniformed services, are of high value to legal practice in light of the current legal and political circumstances. Of no less significance – this time in the area of civil law – is the position taken by the Supreme Court on the strict construal of the provisions of the Act on Shaping the Agricultural System of 11 April 2003, introduced as a radical amendment by lawmakers, which went into effect on April 30, 2016. It should also be noted that the Supreme Court ruled on the guidelines to be followed in the course of adjudicating on the conditions for early release from prison (or parole). This article is devoted, inter alia, to a broader discussion of the judgments that relate directly to the aforementioned issues.
