Summary/Abstract: The study examines the factors affecting the school choice of Hungarian students from Vojvodina, studying at the University of Szeged. The authors,on the one hand, give an overview of the number of Hungarian students from Vojvodina, studying at the University of Szeged, and the settlements they arrived from. On the other hand, they examine the clusters of individual motivations as well as the various factors and their extent that influenced the cluster members in their university selection. To reveal their motivations, the students were asked to fill out a questionnaire and take part in interviews. Based on their answers, a database was set up by the authors and principal component analysis was run on the set of data. Then cluster analysis was performed using the 9 factors created in the principal component analysis. The authors draw the conclusion that more and more students from settlements located especially in north Vojvodina and home also to Hungarians, study at the University of Szeged. The future career opportunities, geographical proximity, inadequate knowledge of the Serbian language to study in higher education and the training programs offered by the university have played a crucial role in the formation of clusters.
