Summary/Abstract: More than 800,000 people worldwide die each year by suicide, this figure representing 1.4% of global deaths. Aggressiveness has been proven to be a strong predictor of suicidal behaviour. The serotonergic hypofunction has been suggested as a possible source of comorbidity among people with depression and has been associated with impulsive aggressiveness. In this study we aim to analyse the correlation between suicidal risk and aggressiveness in patients diagnosed with depression. The subject group consists of 113 patients from the Socola Institute of Psychiatry, Iasi with an even gender distribution and an average age of 41.85 years. Depending on the suicidal risk, we have divided the patients into two subgroups. From an aggressiveness standpoint, the results are more significant in the suicide risk group when compared to the group without suicide risk.
