Summary/Abstract: This article synthesizes the psychopathological aspects of the manic episode in terms of the particularities of the studied case : late onset in a senior patient, associating psychotic elements, in the case of a woman with no history of psychiatric disorders, rather showing features of an accentuated personality such as exaltation and boisterousness, who also fell under a non-conformist, jolly, uninhibited lifestyle. Therapeutic adherence is very important in controlling and reducing the severity of the symptoms and to prevent the occurrence of new episodes. In this respect, besides the social support network, the doctor-patient relationship plays a crucial role, especially when communicating the diagnosis.
