Summary/Abstract: The theoretical study focuses on one of the important representatives in the field of somatopaedia and speech therapy in the Czech Republic, František Kábele, who first began to use the term somatopaedia and was also co-author of the first teaching text within the field. Given that, this personality is not generally known to the general public, and literature does not address it too much,people may have difficulty finding a good amount of quality information. The aim of this study is to analyze the life and work of František Kábele, the founder and the first chairman of Somatopaedic Society.
