Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the military operation carried out by the 109th Doboj brigade of the Bosnian Army which was conducted on the 2nd of June 1993, under the codename “Buba”. The operation led to the liberation of the strategically dominant and important heights of Barakovac, Begova glavica and Mrčevačka kosa, as well as the villages of Hodžići and Stanić Rijeka. The aggressors suffered heavy losses and the soldiers of the 109th captured a great deal of equipment (a tank, two field guns, a greater number of mortars etc.). This operation was one of the greatest victories of the Bosnian Army and the units of the 2nd Corps during that period of the war, a time when the Bosnian Army was in total blockade and waging war on two fronts. This article marks the twenty fifth anniversary of the operation.
