Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the presentation of geographic regions connected to the na-tional heteroimages of the Slovaks and Hungarians in the 19th century texts of prose. It tries to describe the features which are associated with the image of the nation based on the geographical region. Stereotypical Slovak geographical regions in Hungarian literature can be considered to be hills and villages, the lowland and marginally, the city. The results (alongside with the geographical facts) confirm that the dominant way of creating national images was mutual exclusion.
