The formulation of the problem in this manner made it possible to identify some hidden aspects and the reevaluation of some presumptions and opinions, as well as the understanding of the gender ratio in this field. The study revealed the role of a pioneer undertaken by the painter Eugenia Maleshevschi, who was among the first artists who began to approach the art of engraving, to conducta didactic, artistic and organizational activity. Among the first artists of the second generation, after 1918, it is worth mentioning the graphic artist Tania Baillayre-Ceglokoff, as well as Elisabeth Ivanovschi, and the painters Ada Zevin and Eugenia Gamburd for their early works.
