Summary/Abstract: Explanation of the recently intensified willingness to migrate has many components, among which migration for the purpose of employment is a paramount one. The study deals with the exploration of the three basic characteristics of globalizing employment in Central and Eastern Europe and Hungary in particular: migration motivations of foreign employees, their labour market characteristics and the degree of their social integration. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive picture of the content of engagement – which is continuously becoming significant in practice – of highly qualified employees originating from developed countries. The findings at the end of the analysis – due to the size and homogenous nature of the sample – are mostly thought-experiments, but we expect to provide a valid contribution to scientific and everyday discussions about migration.
