Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the attributions of the tower and court, crucial types of a closed epic space and relevant elements of the eponymous figure of the hero. The epic modelling of the tower and court is subordinated to the higher structural level, more specifically to the modelling of the spatial vertical and horizontal axis, but also to the conceptualization of nature and culture in a wider respect, both through spatial determinants and by colour codes (hill : tower; earth : court; high : flat; black : white).
