Summary/Abstract: All the political parties tried to canalize the dissatisfaction of the farmers with the measures taken by the new authorities and the policy of the bourgeois parties by founding special farmers' unions and even an independent Farmers' Party (SKS). The two labour parties, the Yugoslav Social Democratic Party (JSDS) and the Communist Party (KS), too, tried to take advantage of this situation. The author establishes that the success of these efforts was reflected in the elections for the constitution assembly in 1920 in the relative success of the Slovene Farmers' Party within the bourgeois parties, and of the Yugoslav Social Democratic Party within the labour parties.
