Calvin’s teaching about church discipline and ecclesiastical leadership

Summary/Abstract: This paper was presented at the Conference of the Presbyterial Alliance of the Királyhágómellék Reformed Church District and of the Deanery of Békés in Battonya, Hungary, on 29 August 2009. The outline of Scriptural foundations in connection with ecclesiastical government and church discipline is followed by the author’s clarification concerning Calvin’s principles vis-à-vis these issues and their implementation. The end of the paper deals with the credal and confessional aspects of church government and discipline.
