Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to comprehensively edge the fundamentals of the phenomenon of corruption closer to the reader in a simple and understandable way, which was formed and is substantiated by research. Corruption is presented through an analysis of it's basic aspects, foremost it's percipitating factors via the echoes and consequences of corruption through to concrete anti-corruption measures, spanning from the lowest levels of planning and application to supranational levels. As corruption does not have any kind of constraint, per se, neither in appearance nor in a developmental context, corruption at regional and global levels was analyzed. The most specific and more complex examples of intricately immersed corruption are reviewed and analyzed through examples in Afghanistan and Kosovo. Ultimately, based on research and concrete measures undertaken by competent authorities, organizations and the state, an insight is given into the most important current anti-corruption measures that were used in the previous period, in the hope that they can be applied practically in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as soon as a legal framework within which anti-corruption measures would really be allowed to flourish is in place and functioning.
