Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The fundamental aim of the study is to determine the relationship between organizational silence of the employees and presenteeism. Another aim of the study is to provide an insight to future studies since there are not many studies concerning the relationship between organizational silence and presenteeism. Design/methodology/approach – A questionnaire was prepared based on the main objective of the study, and the data collection method was collected from 161 employees of the sales representatives, support units and sub-level managers of the enterprises in the retail sales sector in Aksaray. The collected data were analyzed by using Independent Sample t test, One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA), Pearson Correlation Analysis and Factor Analysis. Findings – In this study examining the relationship between organizational silence and presenteeism, Presenteeism and organizational silence: “Acquiescent Silence”and “Prosocial Silence” sub-dimensions of the medium-sized negative linear relationship is seen. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between the presenteeism and the organizational dimension of Quisecent Silence. Differentiation was found depending on the demographic and work-related personal characteristics of organizational silence. However, it was concluded that there was no significant relationship between presenteeism and demographic and work-related personal characteristics. Discussion – Based on the study findings, various suggestions can be made for future studies regarding organizational silence and presenteeism. Further studies with a more extensive framework and a better sampling technique can contribute to relevant literature with healthier results. Similar studies can be carried out in different sectors and other specific employee groups and further relationships can be examined.
