Summary/Abstract: This paper approaches the most relevant evangelical texts about the Mother of God, inscribing itself in the series of the numerous preoccupations about her super-veneration. The New Testament shows her as worthy to be honored above the saints and the angels. Such an honor is not optional for those who seek to honor God Himself «in Spirit and in Truth» (John 4:23). The Most Holy Mother of God and Forever Virgin Mary, through whose soul pierced a sword (Luke 2:35), for the sacrifice of her Son, she followed Him in all His activities. Despite her humble presence next to her Son, the veneration she enjoys from God (Luke 1:49) and from the mankind (Luke 1:48) becomes obvious while reading the Gospel’s paragraphs about her.
