Summary/Abstract: The vision which guides the activities of the European Master's in Translation Studies andTerminology (METT) of Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca is that, in order to provide competitive and innovative translator training, the realities and demands of the market cannot be ignored. Translation as a profession must be based on a series of decisions stemming from actions of negotiation, collaboration and methodological processing. The workshop organized by METT students for the ANLEA-AILEA International Congress highlighted these two premises through a simulation of a full-size specialized translation project. This article sets the theoretical framework and details the empirical experiences which represented the starting point of the workshop and presents an analysis of the activity from the point of view of participating and attending students.
