Summary/Abstract: The text presents the situation of the Armenian community in Transylvania at the beginning of the 18th century in the context of the union with the roman-catholic church. Special attention is given to the activity of Minas Barun, a missionary sent to Transylvania after his studies in Rome, whose person has yet been neglected in the relevant research. By using materials from the Archives of the "Congregatio de Propaganda Fide" in Rome, the conflicts of Barun with the Armenians from Transylvania, their lack of commitment to canonical rules of the Catholic Church as well as interesting details on the social organization of the Armenian community can be shown.
