Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the article is to supplement with new facts the biography of Kasper Kazimierz Cieciszowski, who was the bishop of Lutsk (Łuck) and Zhytomyr (Żytomierz) in 1798–1831, the metropolitan of Mohyliv (Mohylew) in 1827–1831. Heading more than 30 years Lutsk and Zhytomyr diocese, established in 1798, bishop Cieciszowski made a lot of effort not only for preserving but also building up Roman-Catholic Church in Volyn (Wołyń) in the conditions of Russian absolutizm. The reader can verify this when gets acquainted with bishop Cieciszowski’s testament and additions to it.
