Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the coordination of Regulation No. 4/2009 on maintenance obligations in the European Union and international perspective. The Regulation contains numerous provisions referring to other international convention, creating the first impression that it is well coordinated with the other EU and international measures in force. The paper analyses these provisions, with particular regard to the 2007 Lugano Convention, the Hague Conference’s conventions and other EU measures on civil and judicial cooperation. The conclusion does not give such a positive framework of interrelation among sources as the first sight might have suggested.
