Summary/Abstract: This article is a brief attempt to apply the modified concept of “Sovietization” (including critical sketches of the background to this concept) to a particular complex of social sciences, i.e. the historical and archival sciences. In a short review of existing research into the history of individual disciplines, institutions and personalities after 1945, it raises the question of the usability of its results for the problem of Sovietization in the first half of the 1950s. These include the question of the influence of Soviet patterns for the transformation of the network of scientific institutions and their personnel background.
