Summary/Abstract: The article presents a history of extrajudicial and pre-insolvency restructuring procedures, whichhave been regulated in Romania since the 19th century, until present. The analysis deals inparticular with the conventions concluded between the bankrupt debtor and its creditors, in the bankruptcy procedures regulated since the first commercial code introduced in Romania in 1840, and finishing with the last insolvency regulation, Law no. 85/2014 on insolvency and insolvency prevention procedures.
