The Education Rights of Children and its Effectiveness in the European Unions Asylum Law

Summary/Abstract: Europe has been affected by a migration wave increased significantly after 1990s and as a result of this circumstance it had to face an influx of asylum seekers. Due to the needs arisen out of this situation the member states of the Europen Union (EU) had to create a legal framework and introduced new regulations. In this regard it has been aimed primarily at setting a framework for the fundamental rights of asylum seekers. This article mainly focuses on the following questions: “How the education rights of asylum seekers has been implemented and to what extent they are effective?” For this descriptive research work analyzed Data collected from the reports published by the EU institutions and from other secondary sources as well. Finally it has become obvious that although the education rights seem more essential for the social integration of asylum seekers compared to the other basic rights, one can observe different and insufficient practices in the EU member states. This research work will be particularly examine the education rights of asylum seeking children and their implementation in practice.
