Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to introduce the proposed new legal instrument of “the right to be forgotten” that is a part of the European Commission´s proposed General Data Protection Regulation. Today‘s reality of the online world offers completely new possibilities for violation of data protection. The purpose of “the right to be forgotten” is to considerably strengthen one‘s options how to effectively enforce data protection in the online world. The crucial part of this article will include an analysis of “the right to be forgotten”, namely its point and conception and it will also predict the future trend of this legal instrument.
