Summary/Abstract: In the theoretical study we propose, we have identified, following the analysisof the specialized literature and some research studies conducted by us, pursuing the characteristics ofdigital natives generation, the implications of the digital era on the educational phenomenon. Thecurrent generations of learners are the exponents of the major changes that have occurred globally:globalization, internationalization and digitization. As a consequence, these phenomenaincreasingly influence educational systems, forcing the change of the old educational model based onteacher-centered, student-centered, collaborative learning and individualization of educational paths. This paradigm shift is associated with the future changes in the way and type of work. Thus, prognostic studies related to the dynamics of trades call attention to the fact that in the next 10-20years approximately 60% of the current professions will no longer exist on the labor market. Moreover, given the widespread use of digital technologies, new competencies are required that thecurrent curriculum does not address. The new digital culture built in the proximity of the "FourthIndustrial Revolution", that of digitization, offers education, training and learning a variety ofopportunities and challenges, with great chances to recreate the whole architecture of the curriculumin accordance with the real needs of the labor market.
