Summary/Abstract: The present study analyses the way how the communist imaginary and ideology have influenced the development of theories regarding the monotheism of Daces religion and its impact on their state development. For this reason we read the articles from the Orthodox Theological journals "Mitropolia Banatului," "Studii Teologice", "Mitropolia Moldovei şi Sucevei," "Mitropolia Ardealului," and "Biserica Ortodoxă Română" from 1965-2018, dedicated to the Dacs and their faith. We have identified there four recurrent imaginary constructions, namely: golden age's myth, the unity (territorially, cooperation between king and the Great Priest, religious continuity), other myth and saviour's myth. Those elements have been used in order to offer to the people a new template of interpretation the past, that aim was to legitimate the new direction given by Nicolae Ceauşescu to the Romanian communism.
