Summary/Abstract: Health education is a didactic-educational process in which students learn how to live, to: preserveand improve their own health and other people and create a healthy environment, and in the caseof illness or disability actively participate in its treatment, cope and reduce its negative effects. Themeasure of the effectiveness of health education is the students’ readiness to apply the acquiredknowledge and skills in various new situations that appear in everyday life now and in the future. For many years, the content of health education mainly concerned the issues of: physical healthhygiene, body care, prevention of injuries and somatic diseases. Currently, the concept of comprehensive children’s health education assumes: to take into account the holistic approach to health(all its aspects) and health determinants. Therefore, health education means not only transferringknowledge about what is beneficial or harmful to health, but also developing skills and habits thatwill help to effectively use this knowledge. It is therefore necessary to give children the opportunity to shape attitudes and values that help them make choices that are relevant to their presentand future life and health.
