Summary/Abstract: The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians did not appear from the national ideologies of these nations, as a political goal of their parties and a decision of the legitimate representatives of the people concerned. Neither the first nor the second Yugoslavia were established in a democratic way, according to the principle of national sclf-deierminaiion, which is the fundamental principle of all modern european states. This was one of the main causes of the disintegration of both yugoslav states, which was followed by wars and a considerable number of victims.
