A Farewell to Bronisława Waligórska: Biographical Practices

Summary/Abstract: Bronisława Waligórska was a teacher born in the 1840s and arrested for terrorist activities in 1886. Her letters to her sister, written from the Warsaw Citadel until Waligórska’s suicide in January 1887, were edited by Monika Rudaś-Grodzka and published in 2018. In this article Rudaś-Grodzka discusses the benefits and drawbacks of the method of life writing she applied in her editorial work – a method based on personal documents such as memoirs, letters and journals.
