Summary/Abstract: The essence of the rule of law as a modern inheritance dated at the end the twentieth century (as a necessary prerequisite for the accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European integration) makes an efficient, lawful, high-quality and timely performance of official duties of competent state authorities. This means that various forms of attack, especially with the elements of violence (violent crime) against state authorities, or their officials, can jeopardise the efficiency of the state administration, and hence the functioning of the competent authorities. That is why all modern states, and thus the Republic of Serbia, in its criminal legislation prescribes criminal responsibility and culpability for various forms of violent crimes and act that endanger the efficient and lawful work of state bodies. Criminal acts of violence against state bodies in the law of the Republic of Serbia are discussed in this paper.
