Summary/Abstract: In the difficult period after the First World War in Yugoslavia there appeared a great number of socio-political, economic, cultural and other organizations the goal of which it was to seek ways of solving the postwar crisis. One of those organizations was the Society for Social Education. It was founded in Belgrade at the end of 1918 and the beginning of 1919. It was initiated by a Mihailo Avramovic, a well known cooperative worker, and he was helped in this endeavor and in the later work of the Society by Zivko Jovanovic, Sima Marko vie, Nikola Bogdanovic (who et the time were members of the Serbian Social Democratic Party), Djordje Tasic, Fedor Nikic (later members of the Union of Farmers), Mirko Košić (no party affiliation) and others.
