On some ethotic aspects of argumentum ad crumenam

Summary/Abstract: In this paper I present the study on ethotic components of ad crumenam argument, considered as a complex rhetorical technique. In terms of this framework two pragmatic approaches are applied: speech act theory and Gricean conversational implicature theory. The study shows the diversified features of agents’ credibility employed in different versions of this argument
