Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the evolution of relations between the EC/EU andthe ASEAN as two structures of regional cooperation and integration, which in timehave been transformed into regional international intergovernmental organizations, aswell as characterizing their nature and the current state of their mutual cooperation.Therefore, it discusses: relations between the EC and the ASEAN in the Cold Warperiod, the most important determinants of their mutual relations in the post ColdWar period, the evolution of the base of the EU-ASEAN cooperation after the endof the Cold War and the most important results of the development of political andeconomic relations.
