Summary/Abstract: The paper is based on the analysis of the documentary sources which are used to trace the appearance and development of sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. The analysis includes the period from the foundation of the study group of Marxism till the latest innovation of the curriculum and syllabus at the study group of sociology. The collected material enabled us to investigate the specificities of the institutional development, curricula, as well as the socio-demographic characteristics of students, future sociologists.
