Language education in kindergarten and training of prospective teachers for stimulation of speech development in Slovakia and Czech Republic

Summary/Abstract: The article provides a comparison of language education of children in kindergartens in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic. It describes current researches on the issues of children‘s speech by experts from both countries. The author also analyses standards set for the performance of a child formulated in current curriculum documents. Finally, the article deals with the comparison of undergraduate training of prospective kindergarten teachers at the selected faculties of education; University of Prešov and Masaryk University in Brno.
