Summary/Abstract: Since the first conference in Brussels (June 1995), the European Commission organises, every year, a common Forum with the CEECs on the Information Society. The representatives of the European Union industry and research meet their colleagues from the countries which have already signed or still negotiate association treaties at the EU, in order to discuss the implications of the Information Society and to identify the ways to ensure a full participation of the CEECs in the new industrial revolution generated by the development of the ICT . The goal of this article is to present the main topics of the first three forums and to conclude on the importance of this kind of meetings.
