Summary/Abstract: The conflict between political system and socialist selfmanagement in Yugoslavia is analyzed on three levels: (a) as rigid domination of an obsolete political system, on the one hand, and lack of an authonomous, rational economic system, cultural and other social creativity, on other hand; (b) as conflict of political monism and monolitism with economic and cultural pluralism in modem industrial society; (c) as conflict of classical humanistic, socialist values with unscrupulous principles of market economy.
