Media and information literacy – topics to be continued

Summary/Abstract: The text presents a project dedicated to media literacy that was developed with students in the Online Communications course, which was the springboard for a more in-depth analysis of the topic. In our information saturated age one of the most important skills is how to handle it fully and efficiently. The sifting of fake information critical thinking, responsible participation, high literacy are keys to a full use of the digital environment. The concepts of media and information literacy are examined on the basis of which four elements in the definitions are presented and analyzed in more details. Successful European examples in the development of media literacy of citizens are included in the analysis.
